Field inspection vane tester is used to determine the shear strength of cohesive loose (CU) soils and to stabilize crack-free soils in the field.
The vane tester is inserted approximately 60 mm into the soil, and the maximum torque value is measured on a collar attached to the shaft.
The Field inspection vane tester is supplied with;
• A T-shaped cylindrical body in which a torsion spring is installed,
• Three vanes (16 x 32, 20 x 40 and 25.4 x 50.8 mm) used depending on the expected strength of the soil to be tested,
• A 500 mm long extension rod,
• Tools
• A carrying case.
